Ok, it’s official

January 27th, 2009

OK, so it's official: I suck at maintaining a blog. I think it's due to the fact that I rarely feel like I want to share the minutiae of my life with the Internet-at-large. As a result, I go (apparently) months at a time with no additions to this site. So, as a means of a brief update, here are the following updates to my life:

  • First and foremost: I got engaged on October 2, 2008. Ariana is the most awesome girl I've known in my whole life and I'm lucky to have her.
  • I'm still working for the same company. Given the economy and whatnot, this is something that I'm taking comfort in.
  • I was fortunate enough to get a guitar that I've lusted over for years as a birthday gift from my Grandmother.
  • I've also taken up the bass.

That's the "quick-and-dirty off the top-of-my-head" list. I'm working on getting better on guitar, and I'm currently looking for a guitar teacher in the area. I'll do my best to update this thing more often in the future...seriously...I mean it this time...

What a noise…

August 3rd, 2008

So, left alone to my devices this weekend due to Ariana visiting Florida, and in between the numerous work phone calls (note: if you have the option of being "on-call", regardless of how infrequently, I believe there is a law akin to Murphy's Law that says it will suck...), I managed to come up with this...

Nothing amazing, but ya gotta love Logic for a boredom killer.

Moving on up

July 31st, 2008

Remember when you were younger, in elementary school for example, and you had that friend who was moving just far enough away to result in their attending a different school?

Remember how it was as though they were moving half-way across the country?

Well today two of my favorite folks in Boston are moving, almost half-way across the country as it were, to go to a new school.

It's "a liitle good, a little bad" in that I wish them the best with new endeavors, but will miss their company. When you're in a relationship as I am, it's rare that you meet another couple with whom either of you could be friends with either of them; usually there's always an "odd man out".

Such is not the case with these friends. Jason and Devon, we'll miss you guys. Keep in touch.

Mobile computing you say?

July 22nd, 2008

So I finally upgraded to the more recent version of Wordpress (2.5.1) so that I could use my iPhone to add/edit posts. We'll see if it means more, if any, posts here.

It’s my birthday

January 10th, 2008

It’s my birthday

Twenty-eight years. Damn skippy. Lots of text messages, phone calls, emails and voicemails wishing me a happy birthday. Spent a number of hours in Guitar Center playing keyboards and guitars. I fell in love with this synth.

Florida, why does your water smell funny?

December 24th, 2007

Seriously, why does the water in Florida smell so bad?I think that the sulfurious odor of the water here might be a clue that man wasn't supposed to settle here.

On a more positive and upbeat note, the current weather is warm and sunny, which is a nice change of pace from Boston.

I'm finishing this post on Christmas Eve and I realize that this is the first Christmas that I've not celebrated in North Carolina in my life. I miss that state, more than I ever thought that I would; the place, the weather, the land, the people. I miss my family i miss friends that I could call up and just go hang out with. I miss Flaming Amy's and those wonderful burritos.

North Carolina, Merry Christmas!!

Good morning folks.

December 20th, 2007

It's 5am, why am I awake? I'm sitting in Logan airport waiting on a plane to go to Florida where it is supposed to be forty-five degrees warmer than it will be in Boston.

A week of vacation serves as a prelude to my finally going permanent at my job; an event that will make me very happy.

I think that there should be two rules regarding airports:
1. Go ahead and give your children Benadryl. We don't want to hear your children at 5am. I don't care how cute they may be, it's far too early and I've not had enough coffee to deal with adults, let alone children.
2. Dear Preppy White Chick, don't seem surprised that airport security shows alarm when they discover the taser in your carry-on. Be glad that they didn't tackle you and leave you hog-tied in the "waiting area". Oh, and don't seem shocked when they inform you that it is a "deadly weapon".
3. Bringing a small yappy dog to the airport is ok. However, if you choose to do this, please realize that your fellow passengers do reserve the right to feed it any and all prescription medication they can find. Oh, and it us acceptable to kick you repeatedly for your decision.
4. I don't want to hear you rap while we are waiting on the flight to board. It has nothing to do with the fact that I'm White, or that I'm not a huge rap fan. It gas to do with the fact that you're rhythm sucks and your voice sounds like shit.

I'll post more during this trip, so until then, take care.
