I can’t get no sleep
Tuesday, December 19th, 2006I'm going to regret this tomorrow at work.
"This", in case you didn't get the Faithless reference in the title, is the insomnia that I'm running with right now. An evening of cleaning had led to a night of not being tired. I think Casey pegged the source of my insomnia - I'm looking forward to seeing Ariana tomorrow.
So, what does my insomnia find me doing?
- Reading rss feeds in Feedreader. I really should have checked out a news aggregator a long time ago. If you're interested in what rss feeds I'm reading, you can snag my OPML
- Listening to new music:
- Shooter Jennings Electric Rodeo - Ok, so I'm genuinely impressed with this album. It has a great mix of old school country like his daddy played, but some smoking southern rock influence. I think part of the reason I like this is because some of the tracks remind me of the Mood Cultivation Project. Ok, so I have to include these lyrics from Aviators:
"Now darlin', I know we've had our problems lately
And you've left me after all these years
And I know I probably could have treated you better along the line I've seen my mistakes
Like that time that I took you to Waffle House, and you made me mad
And I made you walk home in the rain
But you never got my sense of humor anyway" - Rahzel Make the Music 2000 - All I have to say is that I can definitely see why this man is called the The Godfather of Noyze. Seriously, go listen to this guy, it's amazing what he can do with his voice. I think this quote from Allmusic sums it up:
"Rahzel has in fact mastered the art of beatboxing, able to recreate full songs, with accompaniment by himself without instrumentation, able to sing a chorus and provide a backing beat simultaneously, able to invoke impressions of singers and rappers on a whim. Any fan of hip-hop should definitely invest in his Make the Music 2000 album."
